First of all – Pet Grooming is easy!
But don’t get is twisted – It requires a whole lot of practice, preparation and training for both your pet and yourself as a pet owner!
On this article, we will be handling the essentials for grooming your pets at home from what you need to have to what you need to know so that YOU, as a proud member of our Trinkets Furmily, will stand out from the pack with your furry best friend.
Right, let’s get grooming, shall we?
Grooming Tools – Do I really need them?
A wise madman once said: if I had lived a different life, I’d have been a plumber – because he never leaves without his tools. The madman was Albert Einstein. He was a cat dad so he’s wise.
The success of a plumber is based on whether he carried the right tools. This is the same for any grooming attempt by a pet owner. Without the right tools, you will have a terrible grooming experience especially for your pet.
Imagine going to the barber or salon. Imaging walking in, there are combs for every hair type – the Kenyan Type 4 hair owners would understand. From the Afro comb to the fine-toothed comb. Where there are hair clippers, both electric and the conventional scissors. The washing stations with shampoos and conditioners for after they style your hair. Oils neatly arranged on the top shelf where the short masseuse needs a step-on ladder to reach.
You’d have some degree of confidence in this establishment handling your hair, right?
You are the establishment and your furry friend is your esteemed client. You have the right tools for grooming your pets. If you are yet to have them, you can get them in our grooming package.
The tools:
- A grooming brush – double sided for both short and long coat pets.
- A bath brush – to scrub away the extra grime from your pet’s skin and paws
- A detangling comb – to get rid of the tangled, Bob Marley-esque Rastas forming behind the ears, on the belly and neat the hind legs.
- Shampoo – And not just any shampoo on the market. One that is anti-bacterial, Anti-fungal, Anti-seborrheic while at the same time serves as a cleanser for your pet’s skin.
- Conditioner – to brighten up your pet’s fur and keep their fur strands healthy.
- Cologne – to make your pet smell like a million bucks after drying up – I mean, you are a Trinkets Pet Parent after all right?
With these basic grooming tools, your home pet salon and/ or barber shop will be open for business.
On our next post we will discuss the proper way to groom your pets to achieve the best outcome in a time and energy efficient way for both your pet and yourself – so stay tuned!
See you on our next post!
